May Day, Mayday!

So yeah, you may notice this is going up late. Apologies, it’s been…a time.

Here’s the state of the Rion:

  • As you probably know (and if not, WELL LET ME TELL YOU) I released my debut novel on the 25th of April. I’m not an overnight sensation, but I wasn’t really expecting to be. It’s nice knowing that it’s out there, and I’m not going to stop pushing it just because the reveal is over. This book is relevant to our world today, and it deserves to be read. (If you do read it, please stop by Amazon and leave a review! They’re super helpful.)
  • For several reasons, my depression has been acting up again lately. This makes it irritating to try any do anything productive. I’ve been finding myself on Farmville a lot. (Yeah, real throwback time-waster XD) So I’m trying to take the beginning of this month as my cue to get back into the swing of things, get my mind back on track, maybe clean my office…
  • Most–no, let’s be honest, all–of my writing lately has been fanfiction. I started Camp NaNo in March and did well-ish on it, and then the month ate me and I had an audiobook deadline and I got sick, and and and and. Needless to say, I haven’t touched it lately, though I do plan to pick it up again. It’s a neat little YA idea, and I want to see where it goes. But right now, I’m head-first in fanfiction. (This may have something to do with the recent release of Persona 5, and my long-standing obsessions with Persona 4. Just sayin’.)

So I didn’t have a blog post up for today. I knew I needed one, and I kept thinking about it, and it wasn’t until I’d dragged my bullet journal out from wherever it was hiding and made to write a checklist of blogs and videos that I went “oh yeah…it’s Monday.” I haven’t been reading much lately either, but I’m hoping to get back in the rhythm of that now as well. Some days feel like I’m stretching myself in a thousand directions just to gain an inch with one, but the good days are so worth it.

But for now, I need to finish making this bujo month setup, and then maybe wash my mug or something. Who knows.
