I used to do these All The Damn Time back when I was in high school. I was just surfing around and came across some very old journal entries from back in the bad old days, and thought it might be amusing to do a new and improved one. (Actually I found two, so I’m going to do both of them. DEAL WITH IT.) If nothing else, this is a fun and interesting way to introduce (or re-introduce!) you to some of my characters. Most of them won’t be the main character of the series, since you know enough about them! And I need some fun in my life today. So! Here goes nothing!

JASPER: Are ya serious? Do I look like a girl t’you?
ELISE: I’m female. Though it works against me pretty much every day.
BRITTANY: I’m a girl!
How old are you?
ALLEN: I’m just recently 23.
CARINTH: I… If I have counted correctly, I have celebrated twenty-one hundred summers.
VIC: It has been quite a long time since I kept track of my age.
JASPER: Twenty-four. An’ I know I look younger cause o’my height. Shut up.
ELISE: I’m fifteen.
BRITTANY: Twenty-eight. I’ll be twenty-nine soon.
What do you think your life expectancy is?
ALLEN: I…what a morbid question. I’d imagine if I keep myself in good health, I should live a long life.
CARINTH: More years than you will care to count.
VIC: I am not sure it has been proven that the affected do not live eternally without external forces impeding that.
JASPER: Dunno. Long enough, or until I drink m’self t’death.
ELISE: With the storms like they are? Who knows anymore. I’ll be lucky to live until I’m twenty.
BRITTANY: Every day I live is one more than I expect.
What’s your height?
ALLEN: Roughly two metres.
CARINTH: I am of average height for my people…I do not know an equivalent in your terms.
VIC: Six-foot-four. Roughly.
JASPER: *grumbles* ‘Bout five-two.
ELISE: I’m a little over five feet tall.
BRITTANY: Five-eight, I think. At least that’s what’s on my license.
What is your job?
ALLEN: I’m a teacher, currently teaching English at Allegheny High in Colorado.
CARINTH: I do not have a profession of my own. I was born son of the Caller.
VIC: Co-owner and purchasing manager of the blood bar Alpha+ in Philadelphia.
JASPER: Head chef f’r th’ Dawes household.
ELISE: I don’t really have one, but I’m really hoping to be a Scavenger some day.
BRITTANY: Vigilante war hero. Or something like that. *laughs* I used to be a waitress, for a while.
What is your favorite color?
ALLEN: Mmm. Toss up between ocean blue and jade green.
CARINTH: I have always been partial to the shade of tal’cath.
VIC: *thinks* Scarlet red, I suppose. Call me cliche if you must, but it is true.
JASPER: Emerald green! I am Irish.
ELISE: Very light blue. The color the sky is in the middle of the day. I see it so rarely, but it’s beautiful.
BRITTANY: Either bright orange or daffodil yellow.
What’s your favorite food?
ALLEN: Ah, a difficult question. I’d have to say…I do have an absolutely weakness for a warm blueberry muffin.
CARINTH: The fruit of the na’tal tree has always appealed to me.
VIC: I…have not put much thought into this in some time. I would have to say…perhaps caprese salad.
JASPER: Pub stew. Soda bread. I’m a simple soul.
ELISE: I don’t know. Um… Cornbread?
BRITTANY: Oooh, a nice medium-rare burger with blue cheese. Man. Now I’m hungry.
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
ALLEN: I’m incredibly boring, but I like vanilla. I have a tendency to put a multitude of toppings on it, though.
CARINTH: …Ice cream?
VIC: Chocolate, but only the richest I can find.
JASPER: Irish cream. I’m a stereotype.
ELISE: Strawberry!
BRITTANY: Mmm. Mocha chip.
Have you killed anyone?
ALLEN: I certainly hope not. Dear lord.
CARINTH: When one lives through a war, it is difficult to not kill someone. So regrettably, yes.
VIC: I have. And I regret each life I have taken.
JASPER: Nah. Not my style.
ELISE: I…no? Goddess, I hope not.
BRITTANY: Probably. I hate to say it, but it’s true.
Do you hate anyone?
ALLEN: Hate? No. I’m not particularly fond of several people.
CARINTH: I do try not to, but I will not say that I hate no one.
VIC: …I would prefer to not answer this.
JASPER: Dawes. Ass.
ELISE: Mm. No, not really. I don’t always get along with my dad and brother, but I don’t hate them.
BRITTANY: Rani and everyone who works with him, the bastards.
Have any secrets?
ALLEN: One in particular. And I cannot reveal it without risking my job.
CARINTH: Secrets. I…I do not so much have a secret as I do a suspicion.
VIC: I’m sure I have many.
JASPER: Eh, probably? Don’t keep too many, though. Mouth’s too big t’keep quiet.
ELISE: I…uh, sorta? Selene isn’t really a secret…?
BRITTANY: So many. Too many.
Do you love anyone?
ALLEN: I have, and I may again. It’s too soon to say.
CARINTH: I love several people in different ways.
VIC: Bethany, with all of my heart, for as long as I continue to breathe.
JASPER: Uh. *coughs* I did. I don’ wanna talk about it.
ELISE: Um. *blushes* I don’t know. It’s kinda complicated.
BRITTANY: Love is a dangerous business. Closest I’d say is Mischa, I guess.
What do you do to relax?
ALLEN: I must admit, I’m terribly cliche. I drink tea and read.
CARINTH: I walk through the woods. I find the sounds of nature soothing.
VIC: In many ways, I have found simply meditating works wonders.
JASPER: Cook, like ‘ow I fix all my problems.
ELISE: I go running, I guess.
BRITTANY: Relaxing? Honestly? I can’t remember the last time I relaxed.

Oh man. Uh. Depends on the class? I mean, if you need a guitar teacher, Damian’s your man. But just in general, I think Chelsea would make a better professor. She’d probably teach like…self-defense or something. *laughs*

Aww, of course! Tara’s gorgeous. And I know bunches of guys who would agree with me.
03) 12 sends 8 on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?
Oh lord. Manhattan sends Nate on a mission. Uhh… probably to do recon on Damian, really. Guys can talk to each other.
04) What is or would be 9’s favorite book?
Miri’s favorite book? “To Serve Man,” no doubt.
05) Would it make more sense for 2 to swear loyalty to 6, or the other way around?
*cracks up* Uh. Probably…for Tara to swear loyalty to Damian? I can see her being a DJC groupie.
06) For some reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should she share a studio apartment with 9 or with 10?
Mischa needs to room with either Miri or Roscoe? Uh. Neither is really viable, but I think Roscoe a better bet. At least he doesn’t hate humans.
07) 2, 7 and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
Okay, well Tara and Andrea actually know each other. Manhattan…uh. I guess they could talk music? Music or journalism. Andrea wants to be a journalist, and Manhattan is one.
08) 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?
Tarenthal challenges Roscoe. …Roscoe thinks he’s hallucinating? *laughs* I think they’d be nicely matched, but would call a draw and just talk.
09) If 1 stole 8’s most precious possession, how would (s)he get it back?
Jade steals Nate’s most prized possession. That would be his engagement ring. I have no idea why she stole that, but I think if he just walked up and dead serious asked for it, she’d give it back. I’d have to assume she didn’t know its significance.
10) Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.

11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?
Alan and Jade. They don’t exist in the same universe, soooo… XD Assuming they did, however. They both know a little about loving people they can’t/shouldn’t, so they could probably have a good conversation, as long as Alan decided to not be a dick.
12) If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
Aww, I think Andrea and I would get along well! I’m not too dissimilar from her best friend anyway. 😉
13) If you could command 3 to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?
Oh lord, just stay and love me forever. Poor Tarenthal. *hugs forever* I love him so.
14) Does anyone on your friends list know 11?
Anyone who was in my first residency class will know Chelsea, as I brought pages from Wrong Number with me then. Other than that…I’m not sure anyone else has seen!
15) If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?
Tara must choose between Alan or Mischa. Man. Uhh… Probably Mischa? As much as I love Alan, he’s a dick. Mischa is more Tara’s style.
16) What might 10 shout while charging into battle?
Nothing. Roscoe is a ninja. He comes on silently like the wind.
17) If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?
Oh man. Hard call. At the moment, he’s fond of “Invisible Man” by Joshua Kadison.
18) 3, 8, and 10 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?
Tarenthal, Nate and Roscoe. I’m guessing Tarenthal is massively confused, and Roscoe would just let Nate have it. He can just make more. Or have Jasper do it.

Baaahhahaha. Well Tara can try to pick up Roscoe, but he’s married sooooo.
20) What would 5 most likely be arrested for?
*checks* Mischa? HAH! Oh, where do I begin. He’s a vigilante. The list goes on and on.
21) What is 6’s secret?
Damian’s secret? That he doesn’t actually hate the reporter who follows him around.
22) If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?
Miri. Because she would cheat. And Chelsea would get mad, and Miri wouldn’t care.
23) If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?
Nate, by all means. I love Andrea, but Nate’s the son of a consigliere. No one messes with him.
24) 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4’s sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that he/she is actually a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 3, who gives them what they need to complete their quest.

Jade and Miri (hah) team up against Alan’s organization. Chelsea offers to help but is really Alan’s spy. Alan has meanwhile kidnapped Manhattan in order to force surrender. Following Mischa’s advice, they seek out Tarenthal for the quest key. Jesus, this is a roller coaster.
