Hey everyone, I’m so sorry that I went dark for the past week. As I bet you can guess, it’s been hard ever since the move for me to figure out where my head is. Some of my health issues are coming back in force (I’ve never made much of a secret with my depression, and anti-depressants are such a game to find the right one…) and I haven’t been able to find the time I’ve wanted in order to find my way back into my blogging habits. And the longer I’ve been working on this, one thing’s become clear.
At least for now, there’s no way I can keep up with the one-blog-a-day-all-week schedule.
So here’s my plan. I want to put up my weight loss blog on Monday, a writing blog post on Wednesday, and then a chapter of the serial on Friday. That means only one “new information” blog post a week, since I have a decent buffer for the serial and the weight loss is really just a recap of my week in terms of eating and exercise.
What I’m hoping is that it means that I’ll be able to put more time and energy into my posts, and make them a higher quality for all you reading. I don’t want to feel like I’m just putting words on a page for you to read; there’s more to storycrafting than that, and even in my blog posts I’m still an author. I can’t let my readers down like that.
You’ll still see all the things I’ve been doing: my reviews will go up as I finish books, I’ll have little inspiration thoughts as they come to me, and my rants and raves about the writing world will continue as planned. I just can’t manage the 5 day a week schedule in tandem with a full time job and a pretty hardcore (when I do it all) workout routine, on TOP of exploring a new city. It’s a little overwhelming and while I thought I could do it, I’m just burning myself out right now.
So with any luck at all, you’ll see my first weekly post tomorrow, and we’ll be able to go from there. And again–I am so sorry for the silence, and the lack of explanation. For any of my readers who battle with depression, you’ll understand exactly why. And if you ever need someone to talk to about the fight, feel free to drop me a line. I’ve been there and done that, and would love to help.
Take care, y’all.
