“Celita?” a small voice asked from within the house.
She blinked several times, trying to place the sound – and then it clicked. “Oh – Ari, I’m in the living room. What are you doing here so early?”
Celita shifted to sit on her pillow facing the door to the rest of the house, and a moment later the faerie drifted in. “There’s a meeting in my kingdom, and my father said I didn’t have to attend. I decided to take the opportunity to come visit. Any luck?”
“No, not yet. But look – you can see what I got with me!” She indicated the bag.
Ariana frowned. “What is…where is that from?” The faerie flew over, landing on Celita’s knee and touching the velvet. “It’s amazing fabric.”
“I don’t know if I’m supposed to tell.” The girl spoke in a hush. “He told me after he said his name that I couldn’t speak…couldn’t ask any more questions.”
“Sounds cryptic. Have you opened it?” Ariana peered at the opening of the bag.
“No, not yet. We can see what’s in it together.” Celita smiled and pulled the cords apart, opening the bag and reaching inside.
